The Buddhists say if you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that’s not the one. When you meet your ‘soul mate’ you’ll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation.
If you are reading this, it means you are alive. Get up and look at yourself in the mirror. Think of all the hardships you’ve been through, all the heartache, all those times someone made you feel less than. All the times you didn’t feel like getting out of bed in the morning, every time someone made you cry your eyes out. When someone told you they didn’t want to be with you anymore, or that they didn’t love you back. When someone told you you weren’t cool enough, or pretty enough, or skinny enough. When someone close to you betrayed your trust, when you felt like all hope was lost. Guess what? You survived. You are still here, and you are incredible. You are strong and you are beautiful. Your heart has been cut, bruised and stepped on, but it still beats strong. You have been to the bottom and the only direction from here is up. Look at you, you are marvelous.
Wait for someone who tells strangers about you.
